Shelbyville Business & Professional Women is offering two scholarship opportunities with a June 1 deadline: the Women Helping Women Scholarship for Shelby County women age 30+ reentering the workforce or changing careers, and the Career Advancement Award for students with at least one completed semester and a C average or higher. Our local Pizza Hut (Shelbyville, IN) is partnering with Shelby County Pantry Pals. From May 1 - 21, bring in canned food items and get free food from Pizza Hut in exchange. Protein items are especially needed at local pantries.

Special Olympics Indiana - Shelby Co is hosting a dine to donate at Culvers on Tues., May 19 (5-8pm) to raise funds for their trip to Terre Haute for Summer Games 2026.  Special Olympics athletes will be on hand to bus tables, refill drinks, run food, and more!  A portion of every sale -- drive thru, carry out, or dine in -- will support our local not-for-profit; donations will also be accepted but not required.

If you are cleaning house and have books to donate, bring them to the Shelby County Public Library any time during the week of April 6-11, 2026. They will be added to the Friends of the Library book sales if they can’t be used in their collection.

Learn about the enduring importance of the Declaration of Independence at a special library event on Tuesday, April 7 from 7-8 p.m. The history program, featuring guest speaker Steve Elder, is part of a series celebrating America’s 250th anniversary. It will be held in the Indiana Room of Carnegie East Wing.
