Learn about the enduring importance of the Declaration of Independence at a special library event on Tuesday, April 7 from 7-8 p.m.
The history program, featuring guest speaker Steve Elder, is part of a series celebrating America’s 250th anniversary. It will be held in the Indiana Room of Carnegie East Wing.
Elder is a native of Anderson, Indiana, but moved to Fairland where he taught American History, World Geography, and Government at Triton Middle School and Triton Central High School.
He holds a bachelor's degree in history and a master's degree in secondary education from Indiana University, Bloomington.
Elder and his wife, Carol, raised their eight children in Fairland where he is on the Fairland Historical Society board. They visit their children and grandchildren in Wyoming, Michigan and Australia.
