Shelby County Public Library: Concert in the Plaza (May 29th)

The Shelby County Public Library will kick off its Adult Summer Reading Challenge with a free concert in the plaza on Friday, May 29 from 7 to 10 p.m.

Community members of all ages are invited to enjoy a performance by The Sad Dad Society, a Central Indiana cover band known for playing 2000s emo and pop punk favorites. The band,comprised of bassist/vocalist Zach Lock, guitarist Jon Dusenbury, drummer Andrew Reismiller, and guitarist/vocalist Aaron Pollitt, has performed at the 2025 Shelby County Cornstock, the Yazoo Taproom in Nashville, Tennessee, the Draft Day Pub in Greenwood, and many other venues.

Attendees are encouraged to come out and enjoy the music, along with snacks and drinks available from on-site food truck vendors. Dusenbury, who works in the payroll office at the library, is also a familiar face within the SCPL community.

Guests are also encouraged to sign up for the Adult Summer Reading Challenge before leaving the event.
