Shelby County Reads: Get Involved!

Julie Alvis November 24, 2025

If there is nothing better to you than a quiet day with a book in hand, we encourage you to get involved with Shelby County Reads! This community-wide reading program was developed over twenty years ago. Each year, a committee for this nonprofit organization works together to select one book for Shelby County to read. After the main title is selected, books related in theme are also selected for our younger readers. Then, programs, events, and a writing contest are often developed to engage the community further in discussion.

The committee meets at Three Sisters Books and Gifts typically once a month. If you are interested in learning more, please reach out to Connie Eaton, Carolyn Statler, or Barbara Rogers (shelbycountyreads@gmail.com) or 317-392-2270.
