Pack the Cruiser for Shelby County Pantry Pals! A big thank you to Kroger and our local police and fire departments for supporting Shelby County Pantry Pals! Twice a year, they team up to host Pack the Cruiser at Kroger in Shelbyville. On Saturday, Sept. 19 from 10 a.m.–2 p.m., shoppers are encouraged to pick up a few extra shelf-stable food items while they shop and donate them on their way out. Every donation stays local! All food collected will be divided among Shelby County food pantries to help stock their shelves and support our neighbors.

Volunteers make all of the difference! 🍎 The Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana Inc. is held in the parking lot of Blue River Career Program in Shelbyville on the third Saturday of each month from 10am-Noon (Sept. 19, Oct. 17, Nov. 21, and Dec. 19). The Mobile Pantry is also in Morristown on the fourth Friday of each month from 1-2:30pm (Sept. 25, Oct. 23, Nov. 27). Volunteers are always needed and appreciated! If you would like to help out, you can just show up approximately a half hour before the distribution.

This Thanksgiving, local partners are working with Feast of Plenty to establish a new Shelbyville satellite location at the Shelby County Boys & Girls Club. This will make free Thanksgiving meals more accessible to Shelby County residents. Volunteers, businesses, churches, and community members will have opportunities to help package and deliver meals and donate grocery bags for participating households.
