Bridge Ministries: Coldest Night of the Year a Success

On Saturday, February 22, 2025, the Shelby Bridge Ministries hosted The Coldest Night of the Year, a family-friendly fundraising walk to support local charities serving individuals experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness. Through this event, they raised over $22,000 to help those in our community experiencing hurt, hunger and homelessness. Congrats!

Nonprofit Center: $5,000,000 Grant Received

Blue River Community Foundation has received a grant of $5,000,000 from Lilly Endowment Inc. through the Community Leadership Implementation Grants component of the eighth phase of its Giving Indiana Funds for Tomorrow (GIFT VIII) initiative. This grant money will be used to develop a Nonprofit Center to serve Shelby County.

Northeastern Hometown Fund: Kopper Kettle Sweetheart Dinner (Feb. 11 & 12)

Dine at the Kopper Kettle in Morristown for a special Sweetheart Dinner on either Tues., February 11 or Wed., February 12 to support the Northeastern Hometown Community Fund. This is an endowed fun established by Blue River Community Foundation. It provides grant money for nonprofit organizations located within the Morristown School boundaries. By participating in the Sweetheart Dinner, you are helping build their fund which in turn helps to build and support our community.

Teen Cuisine Cooking Class Series

Morristown Library and Purdue University Extension Service are partnering to offer a six week series of Teen Cuisine Cooking Classes. These FREE classes feature cooking demonstrations, money management tips, hands-on food prep, and food samples. They will meet Thursdays from 3:45-5 PM beginning January 9th.
