Shelby County Reads is launching its 22nd Community-Wide Reading Program on Sat., Sept. 6 at Arts in the Parks. This year, the theme is superheroes. Joshua Center has been awarded a grant to plan and facilitate grief and bereavement retreats for children living in Shelby County. Because of the Blue River Community Foundation, grieving children and adolescence in Shelby County will get to go to the grief retreats free of charge! While attending the retreat your child will begin their journey experience hope and healing through creative memorial activities, fun games with new friends, a hayride, fishing, 1:1 time with a hope helper, and so many more fun age appropriate activities. Healthy Shelby County is thrilled to announce the Groundbreaking Ceremony for their brand-new nonprofit center. This one-of-a-kind facility will bring local nonprofit agencies together under one roof, creating a linkage of resources, collaboration, and care for our community. The event will take place on Wed., Oct. 29 at 2pm at Healthy Shelby County Campus (2311 S. Miller St., Shelbyville, IN 46176).
