Mission:
The Shelby County Tourism & Visitors Bureau is a professional destination marketing and management organization, whose mission is to strengthen the community by advancing economic growth and vitality through tourism, overnight stays, and encouraging significant participation by visitors in the local tourism economy and help creating a better quality of place.
Vision:
To be a nationally recognized industry leader in overnight and destination travel. Established in 2004, The Shelby County & Visitors Bureau (SCTVB) is divided into the following travel segments:
Leisure Marketing:
Leisure marketing efforts generate room nights by promoting attractions, outdoor activities, shopping (antiquing, specialty and retail), festivals, and events.
Sports Marketing:
The SCTVB Sports Marketing Department is Blue River Sports Authority, and is dedicated to developing sporting events with local and regional clubs, organizations and facilities that generate new visitor growth and overnight visitation to Shelby County.
Shelby County Tourism and Visitors Bureau administrative office hours vary - but the Porter Visitors Center is open Monday through Friday from
9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and on weekends during special events.

Shelby County Tourism and Visitors Bureau is governed by a seven-member Tourism Board, that is overseen by the
Shelby County Tourism Commission. We adhere to state statutes governing the commission and board. We are a 501 (c) 6 organization.
