Shelby Supply Company offered their first Community Woodworking Class on March 15 & 16! Eight participants learned how to use woodworking equipment to create their own cutting board. They were able to offer the course at a discounted rate in thanks to a grant from the City of Shelbyville.
Participants learned how to use a jointer, planer, and table saw to mill rough lumber, how to glue up a board, use a drum sander, orbital sander, and router.
Thank you to Director Craig Olson for teaching the course and to the amazing volunteers who donated their time for the workshops and helped everyone stay safe on the equipment.
Shelby Supply Company’s storefront will have regular hours soon.
Their next community class sessions are May 3 & 4 and June 21 & 22. Class fee is $75.
