The S.A.S.S. Team (Shelby Accessing Shelby Supports) had a record-breaking year for the back-to-school collection and distribution. They served school supplies to 593 students. Over 100 backpacks or trapper keepers were handed out (*registration was required for backpacks). They were also able to meet with 330 parents / guardians. Information from local nonprofit agencies was given to each family.
Distribution locations included all Shelby County school districts. Thank you to all of the individuals, organizations, and corporations who donated supplies or financially toward the distribution. A BIG thank you also goes out to all who participated including Kona Ice of Shelby County, Culvers of Shelby County, Duke Energy, Firefly, and Shelby County Health Department for their support of the drive. It was a great success!
