
The 5th Annual Longest Day Walk at Blue River Memorial Park will raise awareness and funds for the Alzheimer’s Association. Registration opens at 8:30 am, with the walk beginning at 9:00 am. Rupert's Kids hosts Community Day Events offering donated CVS items at low cost to support local families, reduce waste, and fund their mission. Events are held in Shelbyville and Flat Rock with affordable bag pricing and $1 items at select locations.
The Shelby County Public Library will host a historical walking tour of Forest Hill Cemetery on June 17 at 6:30 p.m., led by Donna Dennison, Head of the Genealogy & History Department. The tour will explore the mausoleums of notable figures, with attendees advised to dress for the weather and terrain.
Gleaners' Mobile Pantry will be at the Shelbyville High School by the tennis courts on the following dates: Saturday, June 14th and again on Saturday, July 19th from 10am-12noon (or until we run out of food). *Please do not enter the school property until 9am so that our truck is able to set up.

After a brief business meeting of the Joseph Boggs Society, the Fairland Historical Society & Joseph Boggs Society will co-host a program celebrating Hoosier Basketball History. Noah Dahlquist from the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame will share Indiana basketball history & discuss the Hall of Fame Museum. Then, they want YOU to participate by sharing YOUR Boggstown, Fairland, Moral, & Triton basketball memories. They’ll have photos of some of the teams on display, plus refreshments! This event is free & open to the public; donations accepted.

Shelbyville Middle School is organizing a community fair during their registration on July 21 & 22 (1-8pm). They hope to have items available for families, free of charge. Some items that they envision are the following: Haircuts, Dental Supplies, Backpack, Coats (New/Gently Used), Shoes (New), and School Supplies. The Purdue Extension Nutrition Education Program (NEP) is partnering with Purdue researchers for a statewide study of the impacts of our direct education toward meeting the dietary quality and food security needs of children and their parents/caregivers. They are seeking eligible parent/caregiver and child (5-18 years old) pairs who are interested in participating in our free lesson series, and who are willing to take part in study assessments with the research team over the course of one year. For their time, participant pairs are compensated up to $180 total ($90 each) in Amazon gift cards.
Shelby County United Fund (SCUFFY) 2025 Drive, ‘Banking on Shelby County,’ has officially launched. Their goal is to raise $925,000.
School aged children and parents/guardians can enjoy a FREE hot meal on the First and Third Thursday of each month at The Ville Church’s Community Center (1115 St. Joseph St.) from 5pm-7pm! *These meals used to be available every week. Please note the change!
