Major Women’s Alliance Style Show will be held on Friday, October 20 at Horseshoe Indianapolis (Indiana Grand Casino). Join them for a night of shopping, fashion, good food, great company, raffle drawings and a silent auction! All proceeds go directly back to the patients of Major Health Partners.

The Shelbyville Parks & Recreation Department is opening two full-court basketball courts at Morrison Park (710 S Miller St, Shelbyville, IN 46176). They will be ready for play on Friday, September 29 - 3pm! They still will have some work to complete on them but the public is invited to use them. The Parks Dept. is planning to have leagues and tournaments for the spring/summer 2024.

Get ready to jive, swing, and do the twist at Grover Center: Museum and Historical Society’s Sock Hop fundraising event. Taking place on Friday, October 20th, at the Carl “Mac” McNeely Civic Center (the ‘Old Paul Cross Gym’ - 945 S Tompkins St, Shelbyville, IN 46176), this event will transport attendees back in time to the 1950s, while also supporting a great cause. Welcome, Sarah Richardt to the Grover Center: Museum & Historical Society! She was hired as the new Museum Director in September 2023. Sarah resides in Zionsville, Indiana and looks forward to working in the Shelby County community. Make sure to stop in the museum to meet her! A reception for her will be held at Grover on Wed., October 4 from 5-7pm. The general public is invited to this open house.

St Vincent DePaul Catholic Church will be hosting a Rummage & Bake Sale on October 6 & 7 from 7am-2pm each day in their Church Hall: 4218 E Michigan Road Shelbyville IN 46176.

You won't want to miss this afternoon of music that celebrates the 50th anniversary of the Shelby Community Band on Sunday, October 8 at 3pm at the Strand Theatre! Music will tie into that old saying, and include Sousa marches, a Salute to Blue Eyes (Sinatra), Bach, and the world premiere of the newly commissioned piece by Rossano Galante. There will also be some surprise guests from the band's past, and some other fun media from the last 50 years. This concert is free. Donations are accepted. 

The Strand Theatre and Stage Left Tattoo and Piercing Shop are good neighbors! On Friday, October 13, they are partnering together in a joint event - ‘Spooky $50 Flash Tattoos’ (12pm-8pm) + a showing of Friday the 13th - Part 3 in 3D at 8pm.
