A team with Leadership Shelby County is hosting a 3 on 3 basketball tournament on Sat., March 2nd at the Shelbyville Boys and Girls Club as a fundraiser to help them launch their new Teen Center. Healthy Families is a statewide, voluntary evidence-based home visiting program in all 92 counties of Indiana. There is 30+ agencies that “host” the Healthy Families program. For Shelby County, Healthy Families was previously housed under Family Services and Prevention Programs. Unfortunately, FSPP had to close their doors as an agency, but luckily The Villages was able to pick up the Healthy Families program for our county and avoid any gaps in services.

David shared, ‘Telling an organization's story is more important than ever as a nonprofit seeks to stand out in the crowded field. Getting the message out concisely while engaging the audience takes time and effort.’ This two hour event was a part of capacity building series of workshops that has been offered to Nonprofits through the Blue River Community Foundation and was attended by 26 local NPO leaders.
