The Morristown Community Development Partnership - MCDP (formerly the Revitalization Committee) is working on a series of improvements for the town of Morristown and for the town Park.
A walking path at the park was installed in 2017. (2) Basketball courts were installed at the park in 2022. Also in 2022, the town has added asphalt walkways connecting all of the shelters and restrooms to the walking path, so these things are now handicap accessible. In 2023, the south driveway of the park will be paved and have marked parking spaces, providing handicap parking and accessibility from the parking lot.
For 2023, MCDP is also working on updating the playground at the park. Their main objective is to provide handicap playground equipment and accessibility. They are also planning on adding playground equipment for infants and toddlers as well as some new equipment for the older children. A new shelter will be built with picnic tables. So there will be something for everyone.
They need your help! This is a massive project and they are seeking grants to help fund it. However, they don't think that they can secure enough grant funding to pay for the project in full. Therefore, they are asking the community for help. All donations will be recognized by donation level on a "Thank You" sign that will be placed by the playground, after its completion.
