Nonprofit Luncheon (September 19)

Julie Alvis August 1, 2023

Brian Cohoon of Thompson and Associates will be presenting on value-based estate planning at Blue River Community Foundation (*New Location!) on Tuesday, September 19 at 11am in conjunction with Blue River Community Foundation and MHP Foundation. FREE TO ATTEND - RSVP is required to attend.

Shelby County nonprofits (including staff and board members) are encouraged to take advantage of this general informational session to help with your organization’s fundraising efforts or personal giving goals. Value-based estate planning is a personalized process. Participants work with Brian to develop an estate plan that highlights their values, captures their priorities, outlines their intentions and protects their assets. This presentation and luncheon are free to attend.

Brian is part of Thompson and Associates, a firm that works exclusively with nonprofit organizations and offers expertise in charitable estate planning strategies. Brian will not draft documents, attempt to manage money, sell any products, or ask participants to make a gift. His goal is to provide unbiased counsel in connecting your lifetime values with asset strategies.

An estate plan:

  • Is a living document that represents all that an individual values.

  • Provides participants with the opportunity to ensure that their values continue to impact society and those they love.

  • May need to be evaluated to ensure a true reflection of what the client values most.

Meeting with Brian is a free service that MHP Foundation offers Shelby County. Take advantage of this program for your own personal planning and/or so that you may share with your donors. A planned gift can be one of the most meaningful charitable gifts a person can make.
