Take a walk along Jackson Street in downtown Shelbyville and you will find a few community gardens!
The Cancer Association of Shelby County has a few small plots near the City Parking Lot where you can take whatever produce that you need. This is located in back of their office/thrift store.
A community garden worked by Shelby County Master Gardener Association (Purdue Extension Shelby County) is also located at First Presbyterian Church of Shelbyville, Indiana! Produce grown in the garden goes toward meals served at the Salvation Army and helps feed others in need. Gretchen Jeavons is featured in the photo at First Presbyterian Church.
