Shelby County Public Library: Seed Library

By repurposing the old bank vault of the Velma Wortman Morristown Branch of the Shelby County Public Library, a Seed Lending Library is now offered in Shelby County!

Patrons can "check out" seeds donated by the community, plant them, then enjoy the rewards of a giving community through beautiful blooms or a bountiful harvest!

Seeds are lent via the same system as the library's "Honor Books," in that they may be returned at any time, or if patrons are unable to return, they may be kept indefinitely with no fines or fees incurred.

With a selection of flowers, herbs, and vegetable seeds generously donated by the community, the library is excited to offer this service.

Patrons may inquire about seeds during normal library branch hours. Questions may be referred to the Morristown Branch Library staff by calling 765-818-1718, emailing morristown@sscpl.lib.in.us, or by stopping by the branch at 127 E. Main St., Morristown, IN 46161.
